NEW HOME, WINDOW TREATMENTS

Getting settled into a new home required many needs to help us get back into routine & with 3 small children, routine is critical. One of the most immediate needs, unexpectedly, was window treatments. With said 3 small children managing light sources in their rooms for daytime nap happenings was essential (you know…). On top of that we also had bathrooms with various exposure levels that also needed immediate attention, for privacy sake. The thought of making another decision however, did not excite me, but then I learned about Blinds.com & their services that make it easy-breezy when selecting window treatments that support your needs & style.

When making our decision for which blinds to go with I had a quick phone chat with a Blinds.com designer, after hearing a few things I was looking for she promptly named exactly what we needed in each room down to specific products & asked a few more questions to ensure she got every single detail right. Then we chatted about style preferences for the materials & boom, a hand-picked selection of swatches were en route to our house for me to decide from. Once the swatches arrived the decision was easy, my designer nailed my style preferences without question & exceeded my expectations.

After identifying which style treatments we’d go with-- roller shades for all windows because they were the least obtrusive to the windows when they were not in use & light filtering for the bathroom so that we could still utilize the natural light but have privacy at the same time, we sent off our window measurements & in about 2 weeks our custom shades had arrived.

We received detailed instructions for mounting them (though they also provide this service if you’d prefer) & my husband was able to install all of the blinds within a day or so of receiving them. The blackout shades have been perfect for our boys’ needs during the day for naps (& any parent knows just how critical this is!) & the bathroom shades we went with allow all the natural light my heart desires with privacy. The fabrics selected were just as I expected & fit our style preferences perfectly. Selecting our window treatments, amidst the many (MANY!) tasks that came with a cross-country move & settling into a new home was the most painless experience we’ve had so far.

For the boys’ rooms we selected the Classic Blackout Roller Shade in Somerset Flaxen
